Rehearse the story and rehearse some more before the recording starts. That is the key lesson. There is nothing worse than going through too many takes. The spirit gets lost.

True. Only one take straight through. I'd read through and adapted the script a little. Practice pays off.
I have a great story that never got done
Because I didn't practice and got fed up of making mistakes. I gave up in the end.
Have a go yourself
Even if it only for your self confidence, have a go. After a few weeks, I'm starting to lean towards favouring YouTube. It is easy to post and you can organise your home page. @snook has written a great explanation of how to do this.
