Escaping The Fate (Story)

in #freewrite6 years ago

Here’s the clock, tick tock.

Not much time left to go, but at least everyone is being nice to me tonight.

How did I get here? I’m not sure. I don’t remember doing anything bad. I’ll take myself on a journey.

Wow, I’m flying through the sky. Concentrating on the surroundings around me. It is a chance to escape. If you have done this as many times as I have, you know that you can travel for long periods of time. You can move through any window and make your spirit is free. It is what keeps me going.

But eventually, I arrive back in reality and the clock is still ticking. Much slower than I thought it would.

I think I will take myself on one more journey. This time, I can use all of the energy that I have left. There’s nothing left to lose. It doesn’t matter how much energy this takes out of me.

I find myself leaving through the window again. I want to travel a greater distance this time. An escape from my reality.. I want to carry on flying as long as I can.

I use all the energy that I can, but I don’t feel pull back to reality. I’m still going.

But eventually it does hit me. This time it is far more intense. I am now very quickly dropping to the ground. I think I’m going to end up back in my cell.

Except, I’m not in my cell. I’ve landed in an open field. The sun is rising. I’ve not seen a sunrise for so long. How did this happen? Am I free?

First of all, I need to check that I am not dreaming. I will take my arm and pinch it. I’m still here.

What did I do?

What shall I do now?

Do I belong here?

Do I need to run?

Thank you. It should have had a further ending, but someone interupted me, so I left it.
