Dog Story

"Who's the dog?" asked Ronnie.

"He's called Robodog."

"That's a strange name. Is he a robot?"

"He says he isn't. But there are many of us who believe that he is."

"Why? What makes everyone think he's a robot?" asked Ronnie.

"He's called Robodog for a start."

"So what! That doesn't mean to say he's a robot."

"But you're curious, aren't you?"

"Not particularly."

"Everyone is curious."

"I'm not. In fact, I'm going to talk to him now."

"Why? What will you say?"

"I'm going to ask him if he's a robot."

"He'll just say no. Even if he is, he'll say no."

"I'm going to ask him anyway."

Ronnie decides that he would much rather have a conversation with the said dog.

"Hello. How are you?" asked Ronnie.

"I'm very good, thank you. I'm called Rupert."

"Rupert? That's not what that dog over there was telling me. He told me that you were called Robodog."

"Robodog? Don't be so ridiculous. Who is he?"

"I never did catch his name," replied Ronnie. "Which is not such a bad thing."

"He's obviously got an overactive imagination," replied Rupert. "A bit silly to think I'm called Robodog. Does he think I'm a robot?"

"Yes."

"I'm a circus dog. If you saw my act, you'd know I wasn't a robot."

"I don't need to see your act. I know you're not a robot. But I'll come and watch it anyway. What do you do?"
