5 Minute Freewrite - Prompt: Books
It was a book. Wedged between the handrail and the wall. Half-hidden so that you would only see it from below, from a seat on the steps that no-one would ever choose. Where she found herself now, having tripped, grazing her hands, pens and notes scattering. How long had it been there? It looked almost new, the cover still shiny, the pages uncreased.
She was late again and rushing. Always five minutes behind where she was supposed to be. Every moment was stolen by the next, a debt she could never seem to repay. She opened it carefully, searching for notes, an explanation, a name carefully printed inside the cover. Nothing. She sat. She read. Time ceased.
My morning freewrite work-out. The goal simply being to write faster.
119 words. More than ten minutes today. Still, good practice.

Snatches of novels begging to be written... Will you finish them, I wonder...
I should probably finish one of the novels I've already started first!
Tag me wherever/whenever that is done... 😏
Where to start..It's seeable that you are a writer. My deepest compliments, I followed you and I hope I can learn something from your articles.
I loved the idea of this chain of events, one moment stealing to the other. These are truly enjoyable pieces, worth the time to be read.
Thank you @f3nix! I enjoyed writing it too. I had no idea where it was heading; it's as much a voyage of discovery for me as for anyone else!
You painted such a clear picture - of both - the book and the writer. Lovely. and love the picture you found!!
