Some change / Crazy / Apricot - 5 Minute Freewrite Days 12/13/14

Well...I'm not consistent, it's the story of my life. I'm late once again in the #freewrite challenge, so I decided to make SOME CHANGE: this time I will cover three prompts in one post. Ahah! Very clever...but also a little bit CRAZY, it isn't?
I know, this is a shabby cheat...but I could use it again in the next future, since I expect a hard working weekend, with no time for freewriting and poor connection (but a lot of rain, mud, and people).
So, hail to the shabby cheat! What is missing? Oh, APRICOT.

Apricots are my favorite early summer fruits, until I can get some decent peaches. After all, their name come from the latin "praecoquum", that is precocious.
The garden of the house where I grew up as a child had an apricot tree which I loved. The fruits weren't sweet at all, they were small, nasty, ovals of sourness, better used as projectiles. Only a brave neighbour dared to make a jam with them, adding a lot of sugar that let it still sour.
But I loved this apricot tree because it was easy to climb, and because of the resin. It had a sort of disease that made him produce large quantities of sticky and fragrant resin, of which I was constantly sprinkled, for the joy of my mom... I loved to play with this rubbery amber, and smell its aroma.

The oldest paint of mine I keep is a representation of that apricot tree... that for the record was took down when I was 14, due to the danger of being diseased... but not before I endangered myself regardless of the resin disease, by falling over a branch and stabbing my left eye...damned failed apricot tree!
