100th Day partner Freewrite with @svashta and @littlescribe

In response to the call from @mariannewest's 100th day freewrite challenge, @svashta and I have partnered up for a 5 minute freewrite. The contest ends on Friday. Here it is if you'd like to join!

The sound of my alarm clock woke me up. I checked the time. 5:55 am. I must’ve hit snooze one too many times - I should’ve woken up at 5:40 am - I shot up quickly, only to crash back down on my bed.

After the initial lightheadedness faded, I realized it was in fact Saturday morning and I had forgotten to turn off the alarm.

Since I was already wide awake, I decided not to go back to sleep and do something productive instead.

I checked out the window to see if I could go for a walk - but there was a storm running….

….I was not one for going out in the rain. But I was not one to laze around all morning either. I had an early job as an electrician for a series of shops in the center of town that tended to have power outages due to their age. And what with the storm, boy was I glad it was the weekend. Bob was on duty.

I was often up early, and at strange hours. So weekends were my sanctuary. But here I was, up early, and nothing to do but watch the drizzle pelt my windows.

And I guess that was OK. It was better than getting a call at 2am having to untrip the breaker at Mama Jo’s Fishery. If that power went out, the fish tanks would lose air filtering, the mice cages would get cold, and the puppies would get lonely from sitting in the dark. And Mama Jo was something to be reckoned with if that happened. Is all I’m saying.

Drizzle on the window was better than that.

So what next……..I guess mowing the lawn is out of the question. I would have to think of something to do…….....I’ll just lie down here………..while I think up…….…..something…......
interesting to do……….…….Maybe……..….....I could….....…………..……...just…………..….
work on………...my...……...to the…...…....yard..……..….and…….....then……......Zzzzzzzzz.
