We are almost taxed to death here in The Netherlands too. While it is one of the tax paradise countries for multinationals. Nothing ever comes for free here. Every little piece of “service” comes with its price.

We have VTL (gambling machines)in about every bar, casinos and lottery tickets that were suppose to ease the tax burden but there hasn’t been any significant difference I can see.
Don’t think that helps indeed.
