Freewrite Prompt: Awakening
Ring, ring, ring
I tremble in the dark in my room
-Where is that damn clock?
Ring, ring, ring
I put my hand down into my handbag, searching
-Where is it?
Ring, ring, ring
-SHUT UP!
I'm still searching...
Ring, ring, ring
Some sound from my spouse on the other side of the bed...
-Damn, he is not supposed to wake up yet
Ring, ring, ring
there goes my handbag, it falls,
things are falling out on the floor
Ring, ring, ring
Oh, there, I can see the light
I reach for my phone and bam!
It's turned off.
I feel awake now
Awake and very irritated.
I get up and sneaks out of the bedroom silently.
Everyone else is still asleep
And I remember
This is my prime time, alone in early morning
I need to get down to the kitchen
Making coffee will help me keep awake for a while
I open my laptop and sits down at the kitchen table.
I'm awake now

That morningtime is precious. I love being with my wife, and I'm sure I would be even happier if she was awake with me, but there's also something special about the coffee and newspaper and trying to stay quiet in the house.

Yes it is:-) My husband wakes up hours later... And I love being with him as well. But as you say the time alone is precious.

Ah yes! I get less irritated by the alarm than by someone waking up too early lol. I love my alone morning time :)

Love this freewrite result - I can completely relate to rude awakenings like that, only in my case, it usually the house phone ringing in the next room and me tripping over EVERYTHING trying to get to it before it wakes everyone up. 😊

I know the feeling of ”prime time”* (*nice word, i might borrow it from you some time) My prime time though is in the night when everyone is asleep...i´m a night worker and hopless in the mornings. You always feels a little less good when you are a night person compered to a morning person, but now i will go for the primetime word instead it Sound much moore exclusive, thank you :-) 🌺
LOL, I heard that before about night and morning people. But I always been a bit jealous on the night people... So well prime time it is. It's nice to get time by yourself, that's it right? :-)
