My friend,
I know you are hurting.
You just don't want to express
what you feel.
I can see through your eyes.
They don't jive with your smile.
There's sadness that I see
despite the pearly white teeth
you shown from your fake smile.
I am here as your confidant.
You can tell me how you feel.
I know when you get home,
you'll take your shot glass, ice,
and a bottle of wine.
Such things don't even help you.
You can forget your pain for a bit,
but it will worsen in the long run.
Please, don't let yourself drown in alcoholic beverages.
I am here to listen.
You might think, people will judge you.
But look at the people who won't judge you.
It's not easy, that's why I am lending my hand, and ears.
If you need me, I am here.
Just don't think you'll end everything.
Life is precious, and your sun can still shine.
Be strong, and fight the battle.
