Those were the last words Sophia heard from her dad. They were planning to sneak pass the US Army & cross over from Tapachula, near the Guatemalan border. It was a journey of their life as there was nothing left in their homeland but pain & sorrow. Many joined them as their homes were also torned down by the Mexican mafia families.

Cocaine was everywhere on the streets, young & old were all depended on it for survival. If you wanted to live, then you'll need to work for the families. Only then, you'll be given water, food & shelter.

Sophia blinked. Coming back to reality, she knew that this was the path her family had to make in order to get out from the sufferings & torture of the past. It was getting dark. This would be their chance to escape from this land of hell. They waited for the signal from Roberto, the leader of the group. It's going to be anytime now. They had been sleeping in the migrant caravan for weeks, waiting for approval from US President Donald Trump to allow them free passage. But, deep down, they knew it would never happen.

That was the signal. Everyone got up & started to run.. As fast as they could like their lives depended on it. AND IT WAS.
The sound of siren & commands came up... The Army knew they were coming but HOW ? Gun shots were heard followed by cries of pain.

Sophia ran, didn't dare to look back. She saw the spotlight in front of her & ran towards it, not knowing what it was. Then, a hard pain gripped her leg. She looked down & there lay beneath her was her worst nightmare ever...
