Joshua started his day at 6am, but he never really got anything done until 10am. In fact, he felt like he wasted every morning, so he started getting up at 10am instead, but then it felt like he was all the way through his day before he really could do anything.

The truth of the matter was, Joshua wasn't even alive. He was a ghost reliving his last days. And ghosts have a hard time motivating themselves to really do anything, because they can't impact other sentient beings. They can't impact anything really, except themselves. So Joshua amused himself with fun imaginings, but then when he couldn't share them with others, he got kind of depressed. Then he'd do it again. Over the course of forever, he became the best storyteller ever, but he couldn't tell anyone else his stories. He continued in the cycle forever. That's right, there's no happy ending to this... Except. The stories he concocted were so full of detail and the characters in them were so real to him that he could escape into his own mind. Was he even real? Were the characters sentient because he imagined them so clearly. Sometimes they even surprised him, but not in a wacky, I made the character do something that character wouldn't do way, more in a "oh, wow, it's really responding to the circumstances of the world. I didn't realize that was important to that character, but I guess it is." He stopped being a great storyteller... you know, he stopped building plots and making sure he spent enough time with his main characters that we knew they were main characters, and just started watching all the innocuous interactions between them. It would be a boring story for anyone else, but he loved them....
