I saw a wild pig running down the street. Well, it could have been a tame pig, but it was running wildly. No man in a butcher apron, not woman with a long sharp knife went running after it. A few children stopped and stared> a dog barked, but his leash restrained him.
I saw a wild pig running down the street. It had a piggy tail and piggy hooves. It was small... well, I'm comparing it to the hogs at the fair. To the prize-winning 4-H hogs. Or the FFA hogs. The hogs that win prizes for being big. Not the Charlotte's Web Wilburs. E.B. White of Strunk and White fame wrote a fairly small pig... I suppose this was the size of the pig. Babe in the City-sized pig... but not a Babe in the City pig.
No, this pig was phenomenal. It had coarse black hair on a pink body. It had blood running from its nostrils, and ears the pointed straight up like a dog's. It's cute curly tail was barbed like wire. It's eyes were solid black. And as it ran, you could hear the screams of every pig that had ever been killed squeal.
It stopped and looked up at me. I looked down at it. Then I threw the tennis ball again.

Reading your prompts is always fun, you should have them illustrated with watercolours and gather them in a book.. super cool ending :-)

Oh. You guys are on to something!! We could have a combination challenge with artists who want to do illustrations !! or do photos.....
It would be very interesting @mariannewest. A challenge on a theme, with a final prize, where participants narrate a story (or a poetry) accompanied by its original illustration. It would require some time but it would be valuable I guess. If you want to launch it, count me in ;-P
I will keep it in mind. But for now, I think I concentrate on the freewrite. We are 23 so far and I want to continue sending prompts and reading everyone's work. That takes a bit of time :)
I would gladly accept your offer @improv, but I'm worried that instead of selling the book we should be the ones paying people for taking it away with themselves.
When I was 6 I used to draw dogs with one horizontal line and three vertical ones (the legs)..my drawing skills didn't progress so much since then :-P
So vivid description impressive image of a pig with black eyes, barbed wire tail, and bleeding nostrils, squealing down the road
