I'm blessed. It's true.

I mean, I don't believe in blessings, exactly, but comparisons of advantages in life that are, shall we say, unearned, are worth noticing.

I was born in a country that has a relatively powerful currency compared to the rest of the world. There are other nations with higher standards of living, but I think there are more with lower.

I was born to parents who didn't suffer inordinately from poverty. We certainly had little enough that money was a constant worry, but I was never without shelter, food, clothing or access to public resources, like school.

I have decent health. All these caveats, like, of course, without modern medicine, I would have died several times already, but we do have modern medicine, and I came out of each health emergency still able to interact with the world without assistance. I don't know that that's necessarily a blessing, since there are also reasons to enjoy the assistance of others, but regardless, it is considered an advantage by the mainstream.

I have found a loving partner who supports me, and I haven't been abused by her. I also have a roof that I can currently afford, and enough resources that I can make decisions without so much urgency that I rush them about my state of being.
