The grey elephant had no pants. He looked and looked for his pats, but they had gone for a walk without him. Oh well, what's an elephant without pants? He's still an elephant, aint he?
The elephant, Perddy, Walked all the way to the zoo without pants. He passed farmers and greengrocers and even a trio of trapeze artists on his way. Not a one of them seemed to think it was odd that he wasn't wearing pants. They seemed to think it was odd that he was an elephant, but that wasn't really their place to judge.
At the zoo, he paid for a ticket, and got some popcorn. There, behind a fence, was his best friend in the whole world, Edna, looking forlorn.
"Hi Edna!" He trumpeted, waving his horn. Edna didn't look up. She was sick, he could tell, but there was no one to look after her. Perddy did what any good friend would do, and climbed in to comfort her. "Achoo!" Elephant sneeze. The glass that led to the viewing area was smeared with snot. Edna couldn't stop sneezing. "Achoo!" Perddy looked around the pen. There was no water in the water place. He trumpeted, "you need to hydrate, Edna!"
Haha I was totally in it like children's book! And I was already wondering if Perddy was going to get caught or break Edna other out...then it ended and I remembered it was a 5 minute freewrite!

I like the catch in my mouth as I read your entry. I am not sure though, maybe the rhyming, the flow of the words. Or maybe just that "Achoo!" Lol.
Thanks! I hear the words in my head as I write them, so, while it's not intentional, it gets a certain syncopated rhythm.

Reads like a pilot to a terrific rom-com! I'm so glad that people didn't judge him for not wearing any pants. Makes me feel good about how society has progressed. I do hope that Edna feels better.
Yeah, she still has a sore trunk, but the congestion has cleared up. And, as you can imagine, when elephants get congested, there's a LOT of snot.
Ah ha! You know! You just aren't sharing! Hahaha
