"Control, control, you must learn control!" Luke could hear Yoda's voice echoing in his mind. He hadn't felt like a youngster then. He felt more like a youngster now, knowing how uncontrolled he was. It was kooky how time worked. And thoughts. And... love.
Luke had wondered if he could ever love. He wondered if all the greatest Jedis were lonely, lost in a world that seemed to value the skills he had, but isolated him for it. He wondered about his sister. Whether there were some innate sexism in the idea that she should become a mother and he a lonely warrior, and if she'd have rather switched, if there weren't so many expectations placed on them both by big S society.
The galactic society thought she should be a leader and a mother, and that he should be a wizened old man before he turned 30.
He hated society somewhat, and then he thought of the wizened old men who had taught him that hate was never good. Useful, sure, but not "GOOD".
Perhaps that was why the status quo remained so obviously awful. The people with power shunned the idea of intentionally changing the world. Only the evil people did that. And the evil people were certainly evil, but they probably shouldn't just be opposed by Status Quo protectors. There was far too much that was bad without literal villains telling you they were villains anyways.
Something. He needed to change the way things were.
But that need kept seeming like evil to him. His prejudices were hard to overcome.
