Roadblocks | 5-minute Daily Freewrite by @mariannewest

I recalled one of the worst incidents happened years ago at the area I stay. At the junction of traffic light, when all the cars stopped due to red light, and just at the onset of green light, there were few loud bangs of shooting gun.

It happened swiftly, no one really able to act upon anything. It was a gun shot at a one of the drivers. A male car driver. Two motorcyclists whom were stated to be on both of his car, shot at his head many times before they zoomed off. They left him dead on spot, causing huge traffic jam. Right in front of a shopping mall. I could only feel the immense pain on his family members.

That day was a history. The day where polices summoned roadblocks at many places. In order to catch the murderers. And we were asked not to drive out of the state... Just in case...

Later on, they found out it was a brutal gun shot. Apparently, the shooters were nervous too, they seemed to shoot him aimlessly. Few bullets on the head; cheeks and brain, few bullets on the chest.

The man was almost my age. A family man. With wife and children.

I was very affected by the news as I could not stand brutal murder such as this. I mean, even if it was a revenge, so I heard, it could be done otherwise, not murder, leaving him no chance to turn a new lead. And up till today, I didn't really go and find out what happened next. Maybe I should go and find out after the freewrite.
