Quota | 5-minute Daily Freewrite by @mariannewest
If there is no quota set, if there is no such things as pregnancy complication due to age, if there is no illness or congenital or hereditary diseases in the newborns, I would want to have a team of footballers in my house. Yes, I really do mean children.
Are you out of your mind?
No, I am not. No harm to dream right? Come to think about, our ancestors could give birth up to 9-12 times. My grandmother had 9 children!!!
Having been through a miscarriage before (my 2nd pregnancy) and then the 3rd where my son has CDH, we have reached our quota. Okay, not my husband's, but mine. Besides, the sagging belly jelly muscle, I am also approaching 40 in 2 years time. People used to believe if we get pregnant beyond the age of 36, there will be higher risk.
Also, I still want to focus more on the wellbeing of these two boys plus the health of my CDHer.
My husband said maybe, just maybe, we can redefine our quota and give ourselves a try? To have the 3rd one?
Negative.
I would rather adopt another child in the future if we are capable than risk my life getting pregnant.
But if God intervenes, so be it.
As for now, I am thankful for these two bundles of joy.

You have good reason for refraining on bearing more children in this situation. I think adoption can be a wonderful gift if you wish to bless a child with a good home with loving parents. Best wishes regarding your future.

They are adorable little gifts! I can totally understand why you have your personal quota. Adoption really is a wonderful option with so many children in need of a loving home, so that is a very noble way to fill up that football team! 💓
