Horrific | 5-minute Daily Freewrite by @mariannewest

This reminds me of one of the most horrific accident I had ever seen in my life. One and only.

We were coming back from college in our college bus and upon reaching the bus stop, we saw another bus in front of us hurriedly changed lane without any signal. Everything happened so fast, suddenly like out of no where, a motorcyclist passed by. In an instant, the bus knocked him down from the hind bus.

Tragedically, he bounced further out the road to be rolled under another bus. We saw red splashes of 'splurt' then to realise it was brain.

Smashed. Headless. Needless to say, he died on the spot. In a horrific way.

I remembered vividly I almost vomited. That time, the feeling was beyond words to explain. I literally felt my soul engulfed my sorrow and deep pain. Groaning inside.

I started to think about his family. And tears came running down my cheek.

And I couldn't eat well for few days. So were my friends.

Omg that really is horrifying 😣

Holy brains splashing. That was gruesome. Very vivid description. I would not be able to see all those details. I have noticed that in the few instances when I have witnessed accidents, my body/brain automatically shuts down and shuns away from the actual thing. I either close my eyes or turn around.
In one ocassion I was riding a bus and the bus hit someone and that someone was lying on the pavement. Most of the passengers either got off to see or stuck their heads out of the windown that gave them a good view. I got off and left. I was not paramedic, someone else had already called them. I had no business contributing to the chaotic crowd.
Your story made me evoke those instances. I don't have the stomach for that. i feel for those involved and it is certainly horrific not to be able to do more for them.

Things like that experience are so terrible. They seem to be burned upon your brain. Ultimately, we all go somehow. But that would be a terrible way; sudden and tragic, and no time to say goodbye.
