Dream It Possible (5-minute Freewrite: Grand Piano)
She grew up with her grandfather since the passing away of her parents in a major car accident. Her dream was to be a great pianist just like them. Her whole clan had this thing with musical gene. All were talented except her. Just a little less talented - needed extra effort and work.
Her grandpa effortlessly taught her notes by notes, lines by lines and the positioning of fingers. Even gave her exhaustive lessons everyday to flow with the feel of the melody. How to actually blend with the piece as one.
There came the day when she had to leave to the city to pursue higher grade of the piano lesson which would entitle her for the worldwide grand piano competition. They exchanged hugs and kisses, then grandpa gave her a gift of Huawei P20. With tears and reluctance, she left her grandpa to the big city.
"We can always video call or you can live stream to show me your performance," the last words from grandpa before they bid goodbye.
It was a hard life at the city. Most in the class weren't friendly and had the tendency to look down at village girl. Unfortunately, she was from village. Despite all the challenges and dispute in the class, her trainer put high hope on her. This caused more sore eyes on other students.
Day and night, she called her grandpa to pour out her feelings. He was her terebinth tree where she found comfort and assurance. Grandpa adviced her to step out of her comfort zone to find part-time job for more exposure of the city. So she did. She could not help but to notice her grandpa coughed quite often.
"No worries about Pa. I am superhero, remember?"
The day came when she successfully entered the grand competition. There she was on the grandest grand piano ever on the stage, beautiful swung her fingers as they float gracefully among the blacks and whites. Her trainer agreed to live stream her for her grandpa using the Huawei phone.
While she received great applause from the audience, she ran to her phone to realise there was only a life monitor on her phone, screening from her grandpa's side. It was a straight line - the heart beat had stopped. "Pa!!!!"
Time is up!
The above freewrite is inspired by a song "Dream it Possible" used by Huawei in their publicity. I recently got a Huawei phone as this song is programmed in it by default. I absolutely fall in love with the song and the story behind - every dream is possible! You can view the youtube video here.
As usual, my selfie for the @freewritehouse contest. We are on Day 47th.
