@iamjadeline's part:

She arrived at the scene late. Looking at the covered body, she weeped. Her friend, Tarzia, had called her just now but she was in the middle of basketball match. She could not just leave the court because she was an important player.

With shivering arms and legs, she walked slowly to the body for the last procedure - recognition - to make verification for the police's report that she was Tarzia. She could not believe her sight. Tarzia was beyond recognition. That thing had slashed her face and ripped her pretty face apart. But Julene could recognize her birth mark at her left upper arm. Julene wailed with immense pain.

Tarzia's house was in havoc too. The thing or a person, still unidentified, seemed to destroy not only Tarzia, but everything else. Everyone else was discussing whether was it an animal or a human or what?

"Are you Julene?" the police officer asked, followed by a solemn nod from Julene.

"Tarzia has something for you," the police officer handed Julene an mp3 player, one which was old and outdated. Immediately, Julene's heart missed a beat. Her shivering now had turned to cold sweat.

She could recognise the player. It was her birthday present for her boyfriend 4 years ago. And she thought the player would be at her house since she and her boyfriend were married now. Officially husband and wife last year.

Hoping it wasn't her husband, she turned to have a look at cover, wishing there was no engravement of his name.

Her world freezed.

@happycrazycon's part:

"How can this be? John was at the match just now. By the way, the John I know cannot be this brutal. He has always been so gentle and kind! This just cannot be it!" Julene's trying to analyze this as calm as she could, but she was shivering.

Just then, her cell phone rang. It's her husband calling. Chills went down Julene's spine. She didn't want to believe that John had something to do with this but the mp3 player was surely pointing everything to him.

"No one should know about this mp3 player." Julene quickly drove to a remote place and buried it.

She went home. To John. He had no idea what happened yet, only knew his wife left in a rush after the basketball game, leaving all the other players celebrating their victory.

"Everything okay, honey? You look shaken," he came over wanting to hug his wife.

She got stiff. She felt she could not fully trust this man in front of her now but she had to act okay if she were to find out the truth.

"Erm, I'm okay. Just really tired from that game just now. I went to Mom's because her dog, Ginger passed away. I shall go shower now," she quickly excused herself.

She went into the room and saw there was a bit of blood stains on the doormat. She tried to look around if there were more blood stains. There were some in the laundry basket too. Oh dear!

She then opened the door and overheard John being on the phone.

"Don't worry. I have settled it. She won't speak and say anything against us anymore. But I lost something. If you can, do search for an old mp3 player," he was trying to keep his voice down.

Julene gasped. She knew this is terrible. What is the secret Tarzia got to know that John had to wipe her out? No wonder she looked one kind yesterday when she saw John.

She wasn't sure what she should do. Should she tell the police? Should she report to their company? John and Tarzia work in the same company since they graduated. Can it be a corporate secret she found out? Can it be the huge sum of money John has been bringing back for the past weeks? You mean John has been plundering the company's money? She didn't suspect much because he said it was a promotion. She just enjoyed being adorned with jewels and gifts from her husband.

"Oh Tarzia, I wish you are around to help me with this! What should I do? You do not deserve to die!" Julene's gotten angry after she processed all these.

This is my first time partnering with @iamjadeline for the We-Write by @freewritehouse. We chose the option 3 due to us having difficulty to match our time so we wrote a part each on our end and communicated via Discord to pass it over to each other to continue them. The first part of the above was from @iamjadeline and the second part was me trying to continue her story.
