Five-Minute Freewrite: "Don't Forget Your Breakfast"
My "Five-minute Freewrite" for the prompt, Yogurt; as per @mariannewest's post, which can be found here: https://steemit.com/freewrite/@mariannewest/day-165-5-minute-freewrite-tuesday-prompt-yogurt. I call it:
"Don't Forget Your Breakfast"
(Yogurt... ...)
(Yogurt...!!!)
"YO BURT!!!"...
"BURT!!!!!!! "
Burt slowly opened his eyes and turned to see his buddy, John, lying just to his left, near what appeared to be the edge of an embankment.
(Of all things... Burt thought to himself...)
Neither Burt nor John seemed to have any clue where they were, let alone how long they'd been there. It was basically pitch black, save for a few slivers of moonlight shining down through the trees.
"You hurt?" John yelled.
Burt did a quick mental check.
Nothing seemed too out of the ordinary, so he figured he was okay.
"I'm alright. Just a little hungry..." He kinda chuckled under his breath remembering that big, cool tub of Stonyfield whole milk French Vanilla yogurt he'd glomped down in the morning before work that day. Now he just wished he'd gone ahead and finished the whole damn thing.
John had been thrown clean from the plane--while Burt was still inside the Cessna, which now seemed to be trying to decide whether or not it wanted to stay, or fall off the cliff it had been balancing so tenuously upon.
And thus concludes my five-minute freewrite on the prompt, "yogurt." Thanks!
