Day 115: 5 Minute Freewrite: Sunday - Prompt: mason jar - To Sit or to Run!

She sat almost still, legs crossed in the waiting room chair. Fingering the small piece of paper in her coat pocket, reviewing the list over and over in her head.

All I need, she thought, are my credit cards, a clean pair of underwear, and my car keys. The rest would work itself out. It was so simple she almost laughed out loud.

She glanced at the receptionist, who was busy typing, unaware that this patient was about to flee. Crazed laughter escape her lips as excitement bubbled in her chest. The typing stopped only for a second.

Slouching in her seat, she wondered if she could do it. Leave and go on trip of her dreams. Her mason jar, that sat on her bedside table, was full of life long goals, and when she pulled one out this morning she had been determined to do it, whatever it was. She already had the day off, but here she sat obediently at the dentist office.

Her phone vibrated, a text from her roommate asking about pizza.

This was it. Either make dinner plans or walk out.

The bells on the door were the only sound she made heard as she ran to her car.
