5 min Writing Prompt "Feet Soft as Fog" #freewrite
It's his first ever kick boxing match, and he thought he would be scared, but now that he's felt the other guy's kicks the fear just washes off of him like some kind of pesky grime he didn't even know he'd been carrying on him.
They circle around each other, bobbing and weaving, parrying and feinting. The other guy kicks him again - this time all the way up to the head - but once again it's like nothing. Doesn't even hurt. It's like getting hit by a piece of Nerf.
He wants to start calling the other guy Nerf, just yell "Nerf!" "Nerf!" at him so as to mess with his head, but the roar of the crowd is too loud. He'll just have to wait until they're in a clinch and then : "Nerf", he will say.
Another kick lands. This is hilarious! Nerf…
He wakes up a few moments later. The ring doctor looks into his eyes and asks him if he's okay. He opens his mouth to speak but instead of saying "Nerf" he ends up saying:
"Feet soft as fog..."
