Original by @f3nix - The beauty of the Alps & my friends leaving without me..those b#stards!

English Version

"There's this chorus, they need to be accompanied by a guitarist and they asked me if I could recommend one of my students. I thought of you, why don't you contact them?" The Master whispered to me with his monochord voice's tone.

At the beginning I remember that the proposal - appeared before the lesson while I was anxiously opening the custody of my instrument - seemed to me more than flattering. The Master, this shady and authoritative being, among all his students had chosen just me!

I understood later that, in reality, he had simply dumped on me something he did not want to do.

The choral group was composed of about thirty amiable and old men. Those kind of solid oak wood grandpas that you can easily find driving in a country road at 25 mph, hat on top and well boxed in their rusty Buick.

Me and my friend guitarist Mitch often joked about "The Turbine". A lanky gentleman who did not stand out for his singing skills but who, when duly instigated by the choir director, could suddenly activate his proverbial "turbine-mode" and do inhuman things like keeping a note at a very high volume for minutes. All things that made us theorize about the existence of a compressor plugged to his vocal cords.

We traveled everywhere, in Italy and abroad, a bus full of mountain songs, sausages, cheese and loads of fine wine. Usually, with the alcohol into their bloodstream Mr. Turbine added to his usual compressor a third artificial lung, while the entire choir began to sing discovering notes of which not even the aboriginal shamans suspect the existence (and me running after them, trying to creatively tune my guitar in real time).

I realized over time that, in reality, the Master had given me a great gift. Over the years, I had learned a lot from these gentlemen who had become like grandparents for me. First of all the humility and the joy of being together with simplicity.

What can I write about friendship that has not already been written? I'm almost scared to tackle such an immense subject.

We ask for a "friendship" on facebook and on the many social networks, social gears that increasingly integrate with our lives. Platforms that are imbued with our intimacy, becoming part of our inner experience and, sometimes, replacing real emotions with their own plasticized version.

True friendship is the chant and breath of my soul.
Friendship is the greatness of simple gestures, capable to break our dirty glasses made of stupid concerns: suddenly the world becomes a place where unleashed, authentic happiness is possible, where we can laugh together of our foolishness.
Like music, true friendship can make us fly high, bathed in warm sun and light where the air becomes rarefied and crystalline.

Friendship is a very rare commodity, but if I think of you Freewriters, I smile and, while I write, suddenly the bad thoughts shrink. I make little balls of them next to the keyboard, I position them well in line and shoot them away like marbles on a toy track.

I am convinced that great things expect us freewriters. Soon this wonderful initiative of @mariannewest will flourish and we'll become a tight-knit group of true friends, a place where everyone can express themselves freely and let off their creativity while having fun (and becoming together a bunch of massive cetaceans!)

I think this is your masterpiece till now...there are so many things in this freewrite, I can't even quote them all in a comment...because, I'm writing for the others now, because I knew that shady guitar master, I know what is Mitch face (I even went to his house for role-playing games and some Magic match), and I remember from the very @f3nix mouth the tales of the choir tours, and I think I recognize a couple of people in the photo above: they're among my best friends ever (even if I can't ski)...aaaand, with this last thing I arrive at the most important thing: friendship. What I like more of this freewrite are the words about friendship, because they're true. F3nix is the best friend one could have, He's a far better friend for me that I could be for him, and I'm honored to know him. He's also very witty and funny, as you can read (the bad thoughts marbles cracked me up) ;)

As you said, I don't even know where to start to reply to your overwhelmingly nice comment Marco. In random order: what you said about the fact that you know is my same feeling when I read your last spectacular article here and it's like hearing the voice of your super cool girlfriend / I don't want to seem old but... How many things we lived together? And how many great things are about to come? / Those things about me as your friend are simply too much and when it's like this I fail the reply (it happens but in a positive way) so..I'll just end by saying that the marbles in the original version where "other things" but, you know, i'm trying to be a nice guy here..there's time for them to discover my twisted mind as you know it buahahahah!

Uhm...if they're like marbles, then you should eat more fiber :P ahahahahah!

talking about dejections..let me know what do you think about the prompt I'm going to post in a second.. XD

You deserve a proper and deep reply my friend.. when I'm back home from work. Marco you know I'm really happy that we're together in steemit to spread chaos and madness in our delirious own way.. one of the best things in this strange period of me being back to a uni-student lifestyle ... Cthulhu ftaghn!

I like your three-lunged singing friend, and also the description of the old men. You've got a friend in me !! I still need to snow ski... @lonestarpoet

thanks @lonestarpoet .. those were adorable crazy old men. Come to the alps and let's ski together!

Mio cuore sorriso!! Grazie F3nix! True friendship is a precious gift, greater than time.

Thank you for sharing the photo of your friends and the lovely mountains! (Did you have fun throwing yourself off?) I've never snowboarded but we did ski through the woods in gym class when I was in high school. Looks fun!

Your story regarding Mr. Turbine had me cracking up! 😂 tip!

I loved this so much that I searched the entire world (of the internet) for a new butterfly to give you. Sorry @f3nix, nature and art were unable to create one as beautiful as what you wrote. Grazie.

Dear friend, in my opinion friendship and time are deeply entwined together as one gives value and meaning to the other. There are few things more satisfying for me than riding the snow with my board and friends.. it's orgasmic! 😂 Turbine was a great man.. together with all those crazy old men ..believe me we laughed so much me and Mitch when trying to follow their not always tuned and pleasing songs! Grazie for the tip and the quest for the butterfly!! I feel a bit guilty, I need to check your blogs more but in these days im always around for work.. be patient and forgive me 😅

Nothing to forgive. You commented on my comment to you, so we are able to talk to each other this way. It's all good! Relax and try to enjoy your work. I hope you have a great day with lots of laughs @f3nix!

I love that your bad thoughts shrink to marbles and you can shoot them away - we need to make a movie out of that!!

I was thinking to goat shit but it wasn't as poetic as the
marbles, what do you think Mar? 😂😂 Marco told me that you pinned a vision doc in the discord .. I need to catch up with you, I was thinking about delivering everything on the weekend (karate training requires a good chunk of my energies) ..please tell me if you still need me to elaborate the doc for the group ☺️

Yes. You are the one who instigated getting more formal and you have the legal (albeit crazy) mind. I very much like to see your vision and then, when all who want to participate have spoken, we can flesh out what we all agree on.
Then create a mission statement and develop action steps from there.
I feel very strongly that we want to be as clear as possible and have anything we do as a group written down before we do anything which involves any kind of money. Don't want to have this fall apart because of misunderstandings....
Better to start slow then to have to go back and fix things.
Of course, things evolve, become clearer and all of that. But a good framework is important :)
And I did mention your brilliant mind, right? :)
No worries about time - keep on karate chopping... more important!!

Marianne, the more I know you the more I'm intrigued by your skills of creativity mixed with leadership. Inclusion and creating strenght from diversity are very important values and prerogatives of a community, at the same time we know that we need to protect what we want to build through a solid framework as you correctely pointed out. Also certain members will be demanded to safeguard the community's values. Nothing new under the sun, I guess. What's important is to reach a successful equilibrium between the openness/flexibility and a structure to prevent abuses..

Some lovely sentiments there @f3nix.

Here's today's prompt - it's a visual one!
https://steemit.com/freewrite/@mariannewest/day-89-5-minute-freewrite-tuesday-prompt-check-below

Don't tell it to anyone, @miniature-tiger.
Thank you for the prompt and I hope to meet you on discord one of these days: we're boiling some nice stuff in the hell's kitchen.

Fiorirà! Sicuro!! In bocca al lupo!

Crepi Marco! Vieni a farti un freewrite da 5 minuti se ti va' io li sparo in italiano e poi butto tutto a google translate (poi piccola doverosa rifinitura). Non é lungo e molto divertente 😉

f3nix at his most sincere. Really moving. I would like to read more piece like this one!

thank you @wido for your precious feedback, I honestly wasn't sure about this one.. :-)

Another beautiful masterpiece. I hope you enjoyed the Alps. Do you ski or snowboard?

Thanks @omra-sky! I'm a happy snowboarder .. the Alps are beautiful and majestic mountains, do you enjoy the snow too? I hope one day we can all meet and have a hot chocolate together in one of these cosy mountain chalet 😁

I enjoy it, sometimes. 😁That would be lovely.

Then I hope you're a snowboarder and not a skier couse jumping on the chair lift with a skier for is is always a mess 😎🤘😉

True friendship is the chant and breath of my soul.

I so agree with this and I SO love this freewrite. Your words weave a wonderful tale. hugs and I'm very proud to call you my friend!!

This is certainly the line that resounded through me also!!

The pride is reciprocal @snook! I think I've to edit with the links to your blogs about the home too but i made late night and i had to wake up early.. I'll do It when I'm back from work 😉
