Day 559: 5 Minute Freewrite: Thursday - Prompt: quota
Quota... The first quota that pops into my head... Is none other than the "hot quota topic" in Malaysia now. Yes... In our education system... Sadly... Well, not just education... Basically it exists and we have been living with this for as long as our grandparents have lived.
The lucky part is I am really lucky 20 years ago I managed to squeeze into one of our local university. And then graduated with a Degree and a Masters. Super lucky and blessed. My path would totally be different I guess if I didn't manage to get the seat there.
I guess this will be a short one for this prompt. Not wanna go further deep with this topic.
What I wanna write next would be about how awesome @freewritehouse and @mariannewest has been! Yes, totally super duper awesome. And if this is the first time you bump into Freewrite and FreewriteHouse, you totally should give it a shot. Freewriting is not as hard as what you think. Just grab the prompt and let your mind flow. No need to worry of any grammar issue, spelling issue or whatever you can think of. JUST DO IT!
I have just started with my two elder girls at home with our own freewrite session. Yes, they are 10 and 8 this year. And just like what Marianne did, I find us a prompt a day. Ya, I join them in the session. 5 minutes a day before sleep. Three of us will freewrite. We have been freewriting for 5 days now. Still going strong! Gonna get them to share their freewrites in their page this weekend.

OK. I want them to get into the habit of writing. So freewriting is the perfect thing to do. I don't even limit what language they write, as long as they write something. This is the first step. Gradually will increase the difficulty by limit to one specific language. And learn spelling and new words. 😀
