5 Minute Freewrite Day 524: Buffer

A brief explanation: all mi life I've thought that "buffer" was a term exclusive to electronics, and that's why I struggled to write something for an epic fantasy setting (and a poem none the less!), but while investigating the origins of the word, I found other three meanings, one of which goes along the lines of "a substance in a solution that can neutralize an acid or a base", and that was the meaning I choose for this "buffer poem". Now, it does have other meanings, as any poem does, and a small conection to past freewrites. I excuse myself for any roughness in the verses, I tried some rhymes, and I've never been good at them, not even in spanish.

The glass long and thin
didn’t show the strength
to keep acid burns away
But enduring flame and stirring
it made a quiet wait
for the boy who watched
How neutrality may happen
by a drop of blood who expired
with every bubbly conflict
A name finally was given
to make something derelict
feel anew, be renewed

Nevertheless still a great poem to me because writing a poem is something I consistently find it challenging.
