5 Minute Freewrite Day 489: Hustle

The hustle in The Northern Capital of Lyss had a very special quality to it, sure, it was loud and chaotic, but also carried itself with a sense of elegance and enjoyment that a province boy such as Sebastian was not used to. It made him nervous, it made him curious, and with every new face that he saw since arriving the previous night, he though “will I dream with him?, with her?”.

Because his dream-like visions told him about this place, but never told him that he would be living here for some years as a student of the country’s finest magic academy. An so, he was more than a little lost, walking through the streets, distracting his eyes with visions of fancy dresses and street performers, and forgetting again and again that he was supposed to pick up some tools and material for his first classes the next day.

He stopped to take a breath and think, but his rest was understandably cut short when another passerby hustled him out of his way, softly but with a firm hand. The sudden movement put him at the mercy of the sea of people in the streets, and he danced their song without his will intervening, until some spinning seconds later, he crashed against a wooden door, old and ornamented, in the middle of an empty street. Once he could gather himself again, he looked up to read “Gladiol’s Magical Wares 2”, the place he was supposed to find. Now he just had one question: “what about Gladiol’s Magical Wares 1?”.
