Day 286: 5 Minute Freewrite: Wednesday - Prompt: pitiful
Are fishes confined to within the walls of a small and crowded aquarium at home consider as pittiful ?
Well, depends on whether you are the owner of these fishes or the fish itself.
The way i see:-
Just imaging, if you are one of the fishes in the aquarium, you may likely feel pitiful for not able to get your freedom you want because you are confined to a small area within the aquarium. You are not able to flex you muscle to swim as far and as fast as you wanted. You are not able to chase after smaller fish for your meal too.
If you are fish lover and you may feel the same too for restricting the fishes from freedom which they at get if they are in a pond or river. You too may also feel that pitiful for the fishes not able to swim long distance to gain strength and perhaps play around with other fishes for a chasing race.
And as a person or a visitor like me who look at them, you may have the same pitiful feeling too.
However, if you are the owner of these fishes you are likely have spend a fair bit of time taking care of these fishes so that they grow up over time. You spend money to buy this aquarium and the plumbing system such that the circulation of water are well filter for cleanliness, you feed them regularly such that they are not in hunger. Not tomention you do regular cleaning of the aquarium too to keep the water away from bacteria.
Your intention of keeping these fishes are taking them as a pet and you will do everything it takes to care for them. You may feel pitiful for the fishes if they were to live in a pond or river for the fact that they may be attacked by bigger fish as their meal. You too may feel pity for them from harmful polution in river that may kill the them.
Well, whichever thought you may have, there is always two sides of a coin. You may stay on with you opinion about this scenarios and be happy with it.
