RE: Day 141: 5 Minute Freewrite: Friday - Prompt: grocery list
In my projection of the future, technology dies because it has no power source but that's further ahead than 2041. Great freewrite!

What does it die of, overindulgence? 🤔 😃
Thanks for reading and the continued encouragement! 🙂
It has no power source.
I'm sorry, I was trying to figure out what happened to the power and I mixed the wording up. Did we use it all up or did something else take it away?
Several factors played a part. Fossil fuel runs out. Extreme use by certain nations who put themselves first overload the technologies of the day. Back in the 21st Century, two nations are in conflict and resort to nuclear bombs. Terrible destruction follows but the survivors are adamant that all nuclear use is stopped including energy.
As technology needs power, it develops no more. Earth civilization has to survive on renewable energy and that's quite limited in spite of sun and waves being readily available.
Gotcha 👍
For Civilizations to grow there energy supply must also grow, in fact, the two are directly proportional. If the energy supply is cut off the civilization will also collapse. For years the world mostly used wood for energy and had to expand outward as it grew. But soon they had about reached the limits of outward growth, but then they found vast coal and oil reserves which sustained growth. Now that those sources are somewhat under strain we would need new sources if we are to grow much larger. They have continued using old nuclear technology and never updated to the newer more stable and efficient designs, nor have they solved the problem with the huge amounts of waste. The nuclear industry can not continue like they are currently and thus far there is nothing to replace them. The entire system is a disaster waiting to happen. Without a reliable source of energy, a lot of people will die from lack of resources. If they do not fix the nuclear issue a lot of people are going to die and land will become uninhabitable for a long period of time. So what you are saying is true and if a solution is not agreed upon and work started very soon...😞
Ah well, you and I can see it so, hopefully, people who can start work on a solution will see the problem too. Maybe they are already doing so.
