Day 77: 5 Minute Freewrite - Prompt: If you have any thoughts, please let me know
Professor Peacock stood before his graduating class with his most prized education tool finally revealed to them for the first time. The students sat in the chairs eyes wide, mouth agape, and drooling with apparent awe and wonder at the stunning medical contraption before them. As a much-lauded intellectual of his day, the Professor was very pleased with their expression and emotional response to what had been accomplished through these last six years of instruction under his guidance. Today was the culmination of all their dreams and aspirations, and this was to be their farewell speech from the man whom they idolized.
Today class you have received your final lesson at this prestigious University and those of you who pass this final one question exam will be able to start off with a blank slate, and with a completely open life in front of you. This afternoon each of you completed the final stage of your instruction and received a full and total lobotomy, so your final question before graduation is "Do you have any thoughts or ideas of your own?" If you have any thoughts, please let me know so that we can repeat the procedure and you can receive your diploma with the rest of your class! If not, then you are all dismissed and good luck to you in all of your future endeavors. With that, there was a standing ovation from the rest of the faculty as the class of 2022 was wheeled out the door by the school sanitation department with much pomp and fanfare, diploma's neatly rolled and tied with a red ribbon sitting in each lap.
Welcome to the world of modern education!

This is a joke, kind of, and I'm a strong supporter of good, sound, higher education based on true facts and proven wisdom, and philosophies. I am for schools that teach more than the politically correct version of reality or the accepted religious practices, or lack thereof, of the day.

**Disclaimer: I often use the freewrite prompt to tell a story instead of doing a pure freewrite, so they sometimes take longer than 5 minutes and usually have some editing. But I try to do my story straight through at one sitting without any unnecessary breaks.

This was hilarious! 😂 (I've been in a few classes where I felt a bit drooley afterwards...) Thanks again for the laughs! I'm glad I didn't sneak a peek of this at work today, they would have carted me off!
Today I'm stepping in for Marianne.

HaHa! Funny, but also sad and so true! Send your kids to school to learn how to become social justice warriors? Never!
