Do you get sucked in by the signs? Are you a victim of a sale? Do you allow them to manipulate your fear of missing out?

It’s crazy to think that often times businesses will mark things up before hitting the shelf to only then put them on sale just for the sake of manipulating the customer into thinking they’re getting a better deal than they really are.

Have you seen those going out of business signs? Did you know that’s actually the name of their business?

They will use every trick in the book to manipulate you such as naming their business to something that implies a better deal than what you really are getting. They know once you’re in the door if you had the intention of buying something you’re more than likely going to leave with more than you thought.

Is there really such a thing as a sale?

I’m not sure at what point the word started to be used in reference to a discounted price when in reality the word “sale“ is only really referring to the act of purchasing. Even the use of the word sale to advertise a discounted price subconsciously pushes the idea of purchasing upon the consumer.

What do you think when you see the word sale?

When I see the word sale I immediately think “Offloading Garbage”. Typically items that are brought in for a “sale” are things that have extremely high overhead to begin with, they could pretty well be given away and make a profit.

What is a sale to the business?

The Last chance for you to buy our crap before we have to send it back. Then depending on what goods it may be, manipulate the income tax right offs for a gain!
