And, yes, I realize this story sounds like a knock-off of a story I wrote only a few weeks ago. :) But that one was set in the 1980s, while this one is contemporary. And, yes, the irresistible but maddening musician vs the more sensible woman who can't stop loving him is a well-worn theme.
