RE: Weekend Freewrite 1/6/2018 - Single Prompt Option
I haven't tried this before, so I had a lot to choose from. I went for after midnight, I am not sure how it ended up where it did, but I suppose that is half the fun! Thank you very much! I corrected spelling but left it as is other than that, so apologies for the tense change :)
After midnight, the garden changes. The sleeping flowers with lowered heads begin to glow. The dew-dropped grass sparkles in the faint light. The Dog Rose, wild and rampant, roots and shoots striking out to new ground, began to move. The leaves danced with the ripple of passersby as little folk gathered below the glowing buds. The order of the garden had been unsettled. The path that lead from the beloved dog rose down through the trees to the canal had been invaded. A fat ginger tabby, a monster of a cat, had killed the ducklings. Not one, or two, all of them. He has stalked each one, and pounced. Last night the council of canal ducks had appealed to the little folk of the garden to address this new menace. The time had come to set a cat trap...
Welcome to the freewriters!! What a beautiful story!!
What a beautiful garden! I'd love to walk through and admire it at night! Not the little ducklings!! 😥
I hope the trap works...
Today I'm performing as a Marianne marionette. Frolicking stringless as I bring today's prompt to you.

It is a very sad affair, as fictional as the story is, the part about the cat and the ducklings is true. The local birds, and our chickens, all now alarm when they see said cat, we have invested in a soft impact bb gun in the hopes we can keep any that nest on our bit of the canal safe!
I think i may have just missed this one! Time zones!! Followed - so hopefully i will catch any more in time :)
Thank you!
