Day 35: 5 Minute Freewrite - Prompt: bittersweet
Such bittersweet sorrow, the journey homeward... In less than a month we shall be together again my love. This correspondence will arrive before your eye will behold me but know that my heart is forever with you. Two weeks out of Mogador we are loaded with precious cargo of Tyrian dye and the most handsome courser hounds from the Nile region. I held a key role in the negotiations which shall scant go unnoticed by the King. This should secure the wealth I have sought to provide a good life for the both of us. Perhaps we shall abscond to Carthage and seek a new life of luxury? I hope you will enjoy the sachet of clove and cinnamon I have included. The luscious scent fills the ship. A welcome departure from the normal stench of sea life. I shall be with you soon enough and we shall renew our vows with actions. For now I resolve myself to the memory of our last time together.
