The sunset was beautiful. She could see it from her back window that was open, letting the beautiful soon to be evening air blow in. It was the first day of her separation from her husband since the night she caught him red handed. She wasn't sure how she felt that night and still wasn't. It was as if she was numb. Her body had no feeling, her emotions were void. She knew this was a long time coming but honestly that didn't make it any better.
"Your better off without him.." Her best friend said as she sat down next to her on the couch she'd spent so much time picking out and deciding over. She handed her a glass of wine.
She smiled sadly, that simple act hard to muster, "I know..." She said quietly.
"I can't believe he broke your great grandmothers bowl. After you caught him next door. How disgusting. I never liked him." She took a sip of wine as she surfed through Netflix trying to find an appropriate movie to watch that fit both their moods.
She laughed, "And your just telling me this now?" She asked taking a sip of her own.
"I can't very well tell my best friend I don't like her husband." She smirked, "But now your free to date whoever you want..." She grinned.
She managed a genuine laugh, "Maybe..." She smiled. She knew who she was talking about. Her best guy friend had been around since day one and she'd always had a thing for him, it just never panned out for them. He was newly single too. "I'm not exactly looking for another relationship right now tho G."
Her friend nodded, "Right, but the time will come..." She said raising her glass to hers. "To new beginnings..."
They clinked their glasses, "To new beginnings..." Her smile found her face. Maybe this is what she needed. Maybe God did have a plan for her...
