Day 150: 5 Minute Freewrite: Sunday - Prompt: sizzling
You know what I hate about my job? The smell. It sips into my hair, my clothes, heck, even my underwear smell of charred something. I work in a Korean BBQ restaurant and I have been doing this since high school. The job pays well. I get to cover my rent and the restaurant provides me with meals. I am greatful, but the smell just gets so sickening after a while. Not to mention that constant sizzling of meat all day long.
But I am hopeful. Soon, I will out of this place! Want to know my secret? I've invested in cryptocurrency. Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, you name it, I've got some of it. My mate told me that all of these cryptocurrencies are going to go up at least double my initial investment. Soon, I will make enough to get out of this place. I may even be able to move away, go to college and get a decent job.
That was until the recent media attacks on cryptocurrencies. With each passing day, my hope dies a little. My portfolio has dropped so much now, I think the only way I can continue paying for my rent is by sticking to this job. As much as I hate it, the sizzling of food and the smell of it is what keeps me fed.

I'm in the midst of my PhD, so I will have to finish it first. this is purely fiction though but I won't mind going back to study a completely different field

This was a great post. Yeah, the whole extended dip of cryptos has been a major bummer. While your job sounds tasty, I can imagine the smells would get to you after a while.
