#Freewrite - Copper Quest (Short Story)
Two adventurers talk about their next quest, if they'd have one... Killing monsters for a living is a hard job.

This is my entry for Weekend #freewrite challenge, The one prompt option
The prompt I choose: Warrior
The story is set in a medieval fantasy world.. but you can interpret it as you wish. There's only dialog so you can imagine the atmosphere as you'd like too.
Copper Quest
"Lets just take a random quest.. It can't be that bad."
"Don't you remember? we almost died last time!! and that was copper-ranked quest."
"But all these quests are silver rank or above. If we're gonna die anyway, why not take a job worth dying for?"
"You might want to die, but I want to live enough to see my grand children.. or children at least."
"You won't live to the next month if we don't get a job soon."
"Hey, found one, an escort mission... copper-ranked, and the pay isn't bad either."
"Isn't the person we'd escort is that crybaby whom no one want to take her missions? rather than dying, we'd lose our souls listening to her demands."
"But we'd get money at least... Hey guild girl, we'd take this quest."
[The End...?]
I hope people understand this story... It needs a knowledge about medieval fantasy.. or at least (video or table top) Role Play Games to understand it...
Lets say adventurers take jobs to kill monsters and save people... those are called quests and they're ranked according to difficulty. In this story the ranks from easiest to hardest are: Copper, Silver, Gold, Platinum... Ranks differe between stories set in similar worlds.
I hate escort quests!! loll
In World of Warcraft, now, the people you are escorting YELL at you if you are not fast enough! Cracked me up the first time it happened to me.
