If you'll permit me, I am going to challenge myself to stay in the same story for all the 5-minute Freewrite Prompts for the month of February! Let's see how this turns out...

"You called Breck Costairs," said Ilana. "Where is he?"

Her frantic glances darted from left to right like a mother who has lost her only child. But Breck never revealed himself.

"Ma'am," the crew member said. He stood by the muster station with a life vest in one hand, and a guidebook in the other. "Is there someone I can help you locate?"

The man's face was calm and relaxed, but Ilana could feel his judgment pour over her. She stood more erect to demonstrate her composure. Which was slipping away like kelp over a dolphin's smooth skin.

"You called a Mister Breck," Ilana said. She stopped. Thought for a moment. "This is a test! Did Dr. Sinclaire contact you before we left port? Oh! Ho ho. I see what she's up to."

Ilana waved a thin delicate finger at Mister Muster Man and backed away from the podium. He, in turn, looked at his associate who was helping a small child fit a life vest. It was protocol to ensure each passenger was familiar with the life saving measures of the ship before they set sail.

This cruise had been a bit rushed. The crew was now making sure to brief those aboard in the first few hours of the voyage instead.

Very cool idea to carry the same story line throughout the month! I give all you daily free writers much credit for just writing daily anyway, but even more so when you can tie each piece together!

And the voyage continues... I love how you're telling an ongoing story with daily prompts. And here is today's prompt: https://steemit.com/freewrite/@mariannewest/day-487-5-minute-freewrite-tuesday-prompt-cliff-hanger

I hope this cruise doesn't get into any trouble in open waters. 🙏

Unfortunately Uncle Bruni, it won't be. Because if Titanic would have sailed to its destination safely, it wouldn't have had created that much FLUTTER and went on to become a sensational news and hence i hope this cruise also will run into some trouble.

Am I right, Uncle Bruni?
