SWEATING (5-minute Freewrite)

The warm air pooled around Linda and Clark at the bottom of the deep shaft inside the ancient temple. She looked up and, with a shrug of her shoulders, sighed.

"There is no way we will ever scale this wall, Clark," said Linda.

"Now don't give up so fast, my dear. Where there is a will afterall." Clark looked up, and held out his left hand to block the sun's rays from piercing his eyes.

"It is so hot, my darling," Linda said. She removed the embroidered hankerchief from her bossom and blotted her forehead. A simple gesture in this place. But when she looked down to fold the fabric square and tuck it between her breasts, she gasped. "Oh my! Oh dear, Clark?"

"What is it my sweet?" Clark spun to look at her, expecting a giant spider on her shoulder, or at least a dangerous python.

"I'm sweating!" Linda felt faint, and leaned back against the stone brick wall to get her composure.

"That's impossible, Linda," Clark said. His objection both stern, and confused. "This is a simulation."
