If you'll permit me, I am going to challenge myself to stay in the same story for all the 5-minute Freewrite Prompts for the month of February! Let's see how this turns out...
Not a stich of her dress was still white. The beet red color dripped from her bangs, onto her cleavage, into her lap, and down to her shoes. Which were also, now, a pink speckled catastrophe.
All Ilana wanted was a getaway. A chance to be alone, uninterrupted with Breck, and to perhaps show him once and for all how she felt. Yes, even against her better judgment. Ilana had played the prude for far too long, and look where it got her. Alone on a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean, covered in cold wet cabbage borscht. Miserable. Miserable and disgusting. Miserable, disgusting, and...
Her self destructive thoughts were interrupted by a blaring eruption of trumpets at her door. Door bells on a cruise ship? She glanced up at herself in the mirror and shrugged. How much worse could one night get?
On the other hand, she mused, perhaps it was the Captain coming to inform her that the ship was about to collide with a gigantic iceberg and sink.
She approached the door, reached out her hand, and turned the knob.

STOPAnother two-fer! Not a stitch uncovered by the beet juice of the borscht. May I suggest she dye the dress to an even shade of "beet" by soaking it in borscht. Meanwhile, here comes the captain... to be continued, I hope! Mom and Dad is the Tuesday prompt:
