SHEEP (5-minute Freewrite)

"Those sheep bite!"

The pastor's head lowered into his hands again and he sobbed. Moist tissues littered the desk, the end table, and the floor of his small study.

The church updated the interior of the room in January by adding a library. The collection of books was little more than some second hand David C. Cook, Oswald Chambers, and C.S. Lewis works.

On his desk sat a picture of his wife, three young daughters, and the son he fathered out of wedlock. That was before he gave his life to God.

Sitting in front of the beat down pastor was a now-and-then-parishioner who was most often seen at the second service on Sunday.

"There really is nothing more to do. You know that." He was also a divorce counselor.

"But my own deacon? Teeth... Some of those sheep have very, very sharp teeth."
