If you'll permit me, I am going to challenge myself to stay in the same story for all the 5-minute Freewrite Prompts for the month of February! Let's see how this turns out...
Ilana lay in Felix's arms, the ocean breeze stirred the curtains, and the smooth tone of jazz saxophone filled the room. Ilana had fallen into this stranger's arms when she felt most alone. It just so happened, he was the same one that brought her to her breaking point.
"I am really sorry, Ilana," said Felix. "The ship tilted. It's my first cruise."
"Shhh," she said. "I told you before, stop apologizing. If you hadn't spilled that soup, we never would have met. Now look at us!" She twirled a long thin finger through his tousled hair.
"I don't think I am cut out for life aboard a ship. This was supposed to be a great adventure. Something better than bullies on the schoolyard."
"I thought you were in college," she said.
"Yes. Well, I am. I mean. I was. I dropped out to go sailing. Now I just want to quit and run home."
"Not before we see the islands. You can't escape me that fast." She kissed him. And not for the last time that night.
