The list was long, but complete. Sarah knew that the moment Herr Schadenfreude thrust it into her palm.

"You have just thirty minutes. Our donor's transportation will back up to the morgue loading dock. Have him ready." The trenchcoat swished as he floated toward the door. "And be on time."

Each step was numerated. The result of the greusome butchering would render the young man incapable of an open casket viewing. Sarah bet not one mortician in the three boroughs would even touch him to load the incinerator.

This would be unlike any craniotomy she'd ever performed. On the plus side, the unnamed victim was deceased. But that wasn't quite true, was it? Not if Volker had his way.
