Non-Stop Rush Hour

in #freewrite-life5 years ago (edited)

When I watched Jacky Chan's show "Rush Hour" during my teens, I wondered what a life really was if it was set to be in rush hour like in the show. So I thought there was no such life because it was just a movie, with lots of exciting, random, fighting scenes.

However, in my amazement, I have had my fair share of rush hour ever since I upgraded my job from wife to mother. 😂 Everything increases; words used from day-to-day, muscles movement, heart rate, numbers of hair falling, number of white hair and wrinkles, cups of coffee, amount of laundry, except salary. Haha.

Most people by now know a mother doesn't stop working. From the morning 5am or 6am wake up, from making breakfast for family to the last hour of the day making supper (hopefully is just a cup of Milo), a mum never rest. If they do, I think probably is that few minutes longer in the washroom. Haha.

I admire my mom more ever since I became a mom. People say you turned the "mom" words upside down, you see "wow". It is true. I wow-ed at how much energy we actually have, and we are indeed a great managers in many things, multitasking to the max.

I wrote this because Mother's Day is coming soon and I am already thinking what should I do for my mom. Won't write about that because today is Happy Easter Day which celebrates Jesus' resurrection - He died and became alive again on His own - which means he gave us new life and an abundant why. Too mysterious to be understood right? And that is why He is God, we can never truly 100% understand what He had done, what He is doing now and what He will do. As a believer, I am still discovering more new things about faith and hope. And about many things God-human interrelated.

I thank God today because truly without Him, I would not be who I am today. I was insecure and full of self-pity but totally transformed by His love and grace. Even my parents got shocked to witness such tremendous change in their daughter, then soon they found out this God is real.

Ahhh.... I am chasing another rabbit. Let's get back to my main sharing. Today, after my son had his swimming class, we went to McDonald's because we needed a quick bite as day was getting late and he still had some homework to do.

Although in rush hour, I managed to sip one cup of Mccafe Latte which was creamy and full of love because I decided to love myself with a cup of coffee. Being wholesome makes us lovely and we are able to love others. Mothers seek to love children and family first than themselves. It doesn't mean that they don't love themselves. But they are full of love until they have extra to give. I can reach to this wholesome state because of God. I ditched my insecurities some time ago and He made me whole.

Now I can serve my family with love at the same time loving myself. In the midst of rush hour and non-stop working, I am devoted to my family and I think this is the most honorable underpaid job in the world. Underpaid but it is okay because we are paid highly when one day we witness the success of our children and family.

To all mothers, we are imperfect. We have our days of gloom as well. But we cheer up, stand up and keep going no matter what come our way - that - is remarkable.

Cheers to all moms! You are "wow"!

I guess that is why daughters are closer to mothers. They have both been through more or less the same things, so they can better empathize with each other. :-)

I think so too... I am closer to my mother than my father in terms of heart-to-heart sharing.

Unfortunately, I only have sons now. Haha..so far still, the sons are closer to me in terms of sharing heart's stuff but when it comes to playing games they will he closer to their daddy. Haha

I guess that's the case with almost everyone. :-)
