Your powerful post reminds me of the evil Rumsfeld's "known knowns vs. unknown knowns." The infrastructure of providing information to the masses is one of many numerous threats to a thriving life.
Two major examples:
I'm continually amazed how few people really know where their water comes from or what's actually in it ("uh, the tap, right?" Or, "I only drink bottled water.")
Equally, where money comes from is a conversation that falls on deaf ears and eyes glassed over within 2-minutes.
Not easy navigating amongst the masses, let alone attempting to inform them.
Judgment and ignorance are primary guideposts for so many folks who'd prefer to NOT know what's in the food we eat or the air we breathe!
