It cost €35.000 or $43.000 which I think is cheap for a family home =)
That sound like a very reasonable price, plus you have the advantage of mobility. You can just cruise across Europe and enjoy all the different climates, people and scenery! That is priceless.
I have a friend in Denmark who did something similar--and also for about US $40,000.
