What I love about freestyle? Zero restrictions and 100% improvisation.
Doing freestyle means following your heart. There is no storyboard and no script, just the unpredictable circumstances of life.
When I arrived at the beach this afternoon there was nobody in the water. I repeat: nobody. The water was bumpy and the wind blowing strong.
No school in the world prepares you for the unforeseeable.
It's your life experience, your wisdom, your instinct and the uncountable training situations that prepared you for this very situation.
Thank you life! Thanks for teaching me that there is no unsurfable wave, that there is no challenge I won't be able to face ever.

Yes, I was the only person in the water today.
Even the lifeguards had gone home. If I was scared: sure! But that couldn't stop me. More freedom is almost impossible to achieve, at least if you're a surfer.
Today's experience taught me once more: there are no limits if you come well prepared.

I'm wondering about the soundtrack for this one. It sounds vaguely like Nirvana's "About a Girl" and fits the surfing scenario very well! What song is it?
I'm a huge fan of 60s music, and surf music was a popular genre back then. Of course there was The Beach Boys, and the popular instrumental "Wipe Out" by the Surfaris. But here are two more obscure surf instrumentals you may want to use as backing tracks sometime!
This is a fast song with twangy guitars and sax parts too!

The music is actually a very important part of the video. I was happy having found this one yesterday. It's called "Surfing Day" from Marcos H. Bolanos. I found it on freemusicarchive.org like all the songs I've used in my clips so far.
What a cool sound!!! I love the Goofy Foot. Could be taken out off a Tarantino Movie, too.
The second one is very classic. However, maybe a bit too slow for the type of videos I do.

I think I did a post about the eqipment when I bought it, celebrating the achievement, haha. But that was weeks ago, so you'd hardly find the article in my blog... I tried to find it using the global search but with no success. Anyways... I'll reply right away: The camera is a GoPro Hero 5. I use a special housing to install it directly on the surfboard's nose while being in the water. It has voice control which is excellent when you do sports where you need both hands. The post production is done with GoPro Studio, which is a free software of the same brand. However, I'm already getting to the software's limits. What I don't like for instance, is that you can't do much with the audio track, so it's complicated to achieve smooth breakouts. What you always need when doing video editing is a really fast computer (graphic card).
Ah, and I still haven't tried to use many different resolutions of the camera. There are just too much 😄 Lucky me my best friend is a GoPro Hero himself, haha, and he'll show me when I visit him in the States next week.

Yes, I am giving serious thoughts to adding some video to the mix. Video is huge across all the social media, for example on instagram. I want to kick my game up. Without question, I am having success here on steemit, but I know I could do even better.

Me, too!!! The waves were actually not very nice, the wind destroyed them once I was standing up on my board. But at least I was moving myself in the water which is more than enough 😊

Looks freezing in the last picture. I hate getting out of the water, when the sun is gone! :-D But yeah you´re right, it´s a great feeling after you did something that scared you at first. That´s how you grow!
Oh it's damn hard when you get out, the wind is blowing like this and even the sun has gone... Then you swear you won't go inside again having these conditions... But you know what happens the next time? You'll do it anyways 😄
