Save Our Privacy: 7 Principles Of Indian Privacy Code [Infographic] || An Initiative By Internet Freedom Foundation, India

in #freedom6 years ago (edited)

I still remember the day when I signed a petition against Data Service providers charging separate FEE for Free services like Skype or Facebook. It was a breach to our Internet Freedom. Net Neutrality was in a lot of danger and few people who care about the internet joined hands to form Internet Freedom Foundation - A group of volunteers who worked on the SavetheInternet.in campaign. In this post, I am going to throw some light on their latest Campaign - "SAVE OUR PRIVACY". Why am I doing this? Because as an Indian netizen, this is important for me! A few days ago, @firepower made a post regarding the same topic which urged me to do this! Our data needs saving. :-)

What is "SAVE OUR PRIVACY"?

A community campaign started by Internet Freedom Foundation to present a bill to citizens of India, that will protect the Data Privacy Rights for Indians. It has a draft of "Indian Privacy Code, 2018" bill which has been e-mailed to Justice Justice B.N. Srikrishna Committee with 7 key principles. Internet Freedom Foundation (IFF) is a non-profit organization which advocates for a free and open Internet. The text of the draft has been released publicly on savetheinternet.in for general citizens to review and endorse it. Further engagement with the civilians will be done through constant interaction online and offline across various locations in India. This process will be transparent to ensure autonomy, dignity and privacy is protected. I request all INDIANs on Steem Blockchain to go ahead and pledge your support!

Now let's checkout the even key principles of Indian Penal Code 2018 which set the basis of Save Our Privacy campaign:
