I'm very torn, but I think I'm ultimately optimistic and I try very hard to be. With peak Marxism here (or approaching soon), I find it very easy to get depressed when I look around. I'm guessing you probably feel the same, based on what you're writing.
I do believe the pendulum is going to swing simply due to the fact that all bubbles eventually burst! You can only deny economic reality through forcible government interventions for so long. Marxism is a bubble in debauchery, stupidity and complete denial of reality.
As you said, we must build the platforms to side step Marxist totalitarianism. I totally agree! The faster we get these things and the more plentiful the options, hopefully we can lessen the pain when things get really ugly.
I think the truth is out of the bag (via mostly free speech Internet) and the Cryptos are out of the bag as well. The thing that makes me very positive is the growth in conservatism, libertarianism, entrepreneurship and cryptos.
Now can our side grow quick enough and shut these bastards down before they completely fucking destroy the West through immigration and socialism!
It’s much worse than people think because nearly universally people all over the world believe in egalitarianism, brow beating and then censoring all that which is not soft speak (how dare you speak the frank scientific truth!), and politically correct speech. Everyone (even the cuckservatzars) have moved much further left than they even realize. And as things unravel, their core progressivism is going to aid the lurch towards collective insanity.
The second image is frightening because it represents the death of science and another Dark Age. And technology has advanced far enough to such that perhaps it is possible for the human race to annihilate itself by burning all the books by employing electronic tracking to insure no nook & cranny can defect from the “harmonious state of bliss”. When I was a 5 year old forty-seven years ago, I would literally dream of this first image below (decades before it was drawn) and my greatest nightmare was the “light” would be swallowed by the dark (as a 5 year old I had these premonitions, so now my nightmares come to real life and it is surreal that most people swallowed the blue pill and can’t even comprehend):
