Macron Shifts Blame for Yellow Vest Protests and 'Economic Emergency' to Predecessors, Tries to Be a Hero with More Tax Cuts and Raising Minimum Wage

in #france6 years ago (edited)

After 4 weeks of protests, Macron has decided to listen, partly. At least enough to try to shut the protest up. The greedy narcissistic politicians don't seem to listen without some physical demonstration that show people have had enough and aren't going to take anymore of the crock of shit these politicians shovel at them.

Yet, Macron tried to justify himself and denounce the protests and anger of the French people who decided an increased fuel tax was too much. Macron said the public has a "right to indignation", but:

"There is no justification to the anger and all those violent clashes."

Would the douche bag two-faced prick have listened otherwise? No. Not a chance. This is what happened in the American Revolution too. Taxes started it all. The British empire and their vassal lords and governors wouldn't listen to the people of the colony who were being taxed too much. And so, they rebelled and revolted against the oppression and tyranny of the authoritarians who demanded to keep taking more and more. Increasing taxes is a good way to rob people, and light a fire under their ass. At least in some places.

People are right to call him a "President for the Rich", which is what French MP and the left-wing ‘Unbowed France’ Party leader Jean-Luc Melenchon calls him.

In order to spin things and appear like a good guy who "listens to the people", he declared a state of economic emergency that he would help by raising the minimum wage "by €100 ($113) per month" starting in May 2019. Mind you, he's such a good listener after a month of protests that eventually got more violent. He wasn't listening to the people before that though.

Another measure to make himself into a hero of the people is a pledge to cut taxes on overtime labor, and a special tax exemption for those who earn less than €2,000 ($2,270) per month. He said:

"We will respond to the economic and social urgency with strong measures, by cutting taxes more rapidly, by keeping our spending under control, but not with U-turns."

In his speech today (see below), he blames the current economic emergency on the past 40 years of deteriorating living standards and widening income gap that his predecessors created. Not him. He's Mr. Innocent in all this. Apparently, his tax increase was reasonable, it's only because of the past 40 years of shit that people saw the tax increase as the final straw that broke their tacit acceptance of being screwed over.

Laughably (to me), he ends his speech with:

"What I'm doing, and what I'm fighting for, is for you. This is the fight for France. Vive la France."

My partner is from France. She follows the news there, even before this Yellow Vest protest event. Macron was voted on because he "looks good". Serious, apparently that's why many people voted for him. He was a "center" candidate, but turned out to favor the rich and helped to gut the public sector and social programs in favor of more privatization and increased costs. Institutions that were built from public funds, through taxes, were being handed over to private companies. for profit maximization. No one was given money back for the private sector gaining control of what the public paid for.

He is ruining France apparently (as my partner says), not fighting for it, or doing what he's doing for the people. It's a big con game from a typical two-faced lying politician. His new measure that are simply an attempt to appease people who are fighting back against increased taxes, is to cut them in other places which won't do much to help the economy anyways. Although, it does seem to help the poorer, rather than more measures that help the richest. Maybe it will be enough smoke blown up people's asses for him to get them to stop the protests.

Some people on Twitter praise Macron for "courage" and "brave" decisions. They must be clueless idiots who just swallow up any shit being shoveled their way by their idolized puppet politicians, lest they realize the sham they live in. Other's recognize the state's control over public funds, and want to reverse that with more public control over how the government is spending taxes.

The Yellow Vest movement has accomplished something though. They got a politician to listen, in part, and stopped the tax hike that they initially were protesting against. One person said on Twitter that "In six weeks, the Yellow Vests got what the trade unions did not get in 30 years." That's pretty good, 6 weeks vs. 30 years. All it took was for people to get pissed off enough to make enough noise, disrupt the normalcy of a docile society and be heard.

I wonder though, if this will be the dying of the movement now that Macron has conceded his tax hike. Maybe taking away the final straw will just bring people back to accepting what was before. Or will they keep pushing for more to change? I guess we'll find out shortly.

Yes, there was a lot of Macron bladebladeblablabla. Maybe a handful of the Gilets Jaunes will be happy with the crumbs Macron is throwing at them, but the whole issue is much bigger than that. This is a great opportunity to call for legislation through referendum, a genuine Power to the People! The very People he is screwing further by having one of his minions in Marrakesh signing the United Nations pact on immigration on his behalf. The fact is Macron despises the French people. He is a EU puppet. I wanted to puke the night of his election when he came out triumphant to the sound of the EU hymn and not to the sound of the Marseillaise.

Yes, it's a big deception, and people have fallen for it, some are awakening to the deception, while others are still too entrenched. My partner has said the same, he hates the French, certainly the Breton origins which she is from.

They had a chance but let her slip through their hands. Marine Le Pen was their chance to siphon off some the anger, much as they are doing with Trump.

Will be curious to see if the people settle for the concessions or if this is the beginning of more.

You are so correct. LA pen was their chance but they blow it.

Yeah, apparently Le Pen was a closet globalist too :/ I'm curious as well. I see it just dying down, as the initial demands to drop the new tax hike have been met.

It's always interesting to see what folks settle for. Sometimes that shines some light onto the real cause for the action

They dangle low hanging fruit to appease the masses. Increasing minimum wage is a null economic point; companies just charge more, prices go up, inflation goes up. I hope the vests don’t stop and give up at such a lame concession.

Yup, minimum wage doesn't solve much in the long-term, only short term moving the goal post into the long term, rinse repeat :/

The scum will always float to the surface

Thanks for the support.

This may satisfy some of them, but others are not so easily pacified. They have seen their country rot from the inside out, so I hope that they can stand in solidarity and get their country back.

I saw an article that some of the yellow vests are saying to Macron"if you still have respect for your people, resign"
https://twitter.com/BFMTV/status/1072214547187023872/video/1

He doesn't, so he won't :/

He's a creepy little zionist puppet...

Is he worse than Sarcozy? lol

The thing I'm trying to get my head around is which level of the grand zionist plan is the yellow jacket movement - playing right into their hands by creating disorder or a real rebellion?

Incompetent puppet leaders don't get there by accident in a fake election system - they all have roles - even Trump and May - so I suspect that French clown is displaying the mismanagement he is meant to - problem, reaction, solution...

Pretty stupid memo. Current french leadership (as all globalist satanists) votes again Israel (God's nation) wherever they can.... check the UN voting and check who EU and France is supporting against Israel. Wake up man or stop trolling!

I think my detailed and in depth dissection of the speech captures it perfectly, tbh...

People voted for macron because they were told that Le Pen is the wolf, only because of that, the rest are the same type of people that love Obama and Trudeau.

On the other hand, it is interesting that he says that it is not his fault, because he was part of the previous government, he was minister of the economy, I do not think the current situation is a surprise for him, because he is a continuation of the previous government.
